Kevin Makin - Vitesse's
The convertible.
I bought the car in October 1993 as a restoration job because I needed a new hobby. So started a ‘15 year’ hobby with the first MOT of my ownership in 2008. Every part of the car has had attention except for the engine and diff, both which were in good order when I got the car. I’ve done all the work myself from the welding (of which there was plenty) to the paint.
As it was going to be a full restoration my initial intention was to change the colour to either white or blue, but on a visit to the NEC classic show I saw a Jasmine TR5 outside in the sunshine and my mind was made up to keep as its original colour – Jasmine.
Since it’s been back on the road I’ve done various upgrades as follows
Front suspension upgraded – 330lb springs with GAZ adjustable shocks.
Adjustable top wishbones set at 1.5 Degrees negative camber.
Rear suspension converted to Koni adjustable shocks.
Alternator conversion
MGF seats.
